# Filament

A MediaWiki skin built on Yahoo’s Pure CSS framework, written mostly by Garrick van Buren with me in 2013.

Filament is a MediaWiki skin that uses Yahoo’s [Pure](https://purecss.io/) CSS framework. Its README calls it “a MediaWiki skin that focuses on your content,” the same aim as Foreground, which uses the heavier Zurb Foundation framework. Like Foreground, it was a project of WikiWonders, the MediaWiki project business I never got off the ground, and was published under that name with a 2-clause BSD license.

Garrick van Buren wrote most of it. The repository carries Foreground’s early history, and on June 6, 2013 Garrick [began the Pure version](https://github.com/jthingelstad/filament/commit/b18787ce6bace0ff6e065a0656a0c13d44f08ff7); I updated it to Pure 0.2.0 and fixed asset paths. Karsten Hoffmeyer added a German translation and license fixes in [November 2013](https://github.com/jthingelstad/filament/pull/11), the last change to the code.

A demo wiki ran on my wiki farm at filament.thingelstad.com. By March 2014 its [main page](https://web.archive.org/web/20140302063203/http://filament.thingelstad.com/wiki/Main_Page) said the demo was blank and pointed visitors to GitHub. The repository is archived.
