# Weekly Thing Workshop

Four AI agents on Discord, Eddy, Linky, Marky and Patty, that helped me edit, research, promote and fund the Weekly Thing in 2026.

After nine years of Weekly Things assembled with Shortcuts, I wanted help that did not wait for me. The old workflow “only runs when I engage with it. It is also brittle and ‘one way’.” In May 2026 I introduced [the Weekly Thing Team](https://www.thingelstad.com/2026/05/12/the-weekly-thing-team.html), “the genesis of my Workshop,” four agents on Discord, each with the whole Weekly Thing archive as a tool:

- **Eddy**, the editor, assembled a working draft of the current issue every day and reviewed it.
- **Linky**, the researcher, scouted the links I flagged. When I replied with my commentary, Linky synced it back to Pinboard.
- **Marky** worked on bringing the newest issue to new readers.
- **Patty** ran the Supporting Membership calls to action, and was the only agent whose drafts appeared in an issue.

“My words are mine!” I wrote; the agents were a support team, not writers. [Weekly Thing 349](https://weekly.thingelstad.com/archive/349/), sent on May 23, 2026, was the first issue made start to finish in the Workshop, “by far the biggest change I’ve ever made to the Weekly Thing automation.” Over the summer, as I put it in [Weekly Thing 350](https://weekly.thingelstad.com/archive/350/), work on an Agent Studio “kind of blew up my own publishing process.” That issue was the first made in WT Builder, which has made every issue since.
